Hoping someone can point me to a good direction. This is 2007 D3 v8 petro with 88k miles. I have been getting this P2098 code for a while. I already replaced the downstream o2 sensor and it didnt do anything.
Here are the symptoms
1. Code first appear as "pending code". It doesn't turn on check engine light.
2. If I don't erase it as soon as I start the engine, it will give me check engine light after 1 to 1.2 miles of driving.
3. If I turn it off (while the truck is in motion, or no engine shut down) the light will not reappear. But the code is renew and stay as "pending code". It will light up again at next engine start up
The scanner I use, cannot give me downstream o2 sensor reading. I am out of idea what can be the cause..

What code reader are you using as there are only a few that can read and give you proper fault codes for the LR range.

I am using UltraGauge to capture both pending and trouble codes.
