Drivers door lock doesn't always lock

When I lock my car sometimes the drivers door doesn't lock, anyone know how's best to fix this?

I had this a few months ago.

A quick squirt of some silicone lubricant into the lock mechanism and I've not had a problem since. Try that first and save yourself £100.

It takes a few locks and unlocks to work the lube into the mechanism but I may have just caught mine just in time before it failed completely.
