You're going to need to research this yourself I'm afraid, now that you have got the diagnostic working.

Also please don't post the same question multiple times all over the site Smile

Just a guess but the solenoid valve stuck open allowing fuel in before its required and the glow plug is igniting it before it gets to temperature?

Could only be a matter of a second or so between switching but that would cause pre-combustion.

Or possibly the cooling cycle not completing after previous use or combustion fan not running properly and leftover fuel is igniting before the FBH wants?

I could be talking complete crap though which is very likely.

Thanks for the reply mate and I think I am going to tackle it to or row and take it apart and see if every thing that moves is free and see if there is any carbon build up etc but I think you have something there Sydney

What may work is blowing down the inlet pipe as it goes through its pre-start cycle, unless you have a good set of lungs or an airline could use a hairdryer on the lowest setting to pump air through. Doesn't need to be high pressure, just enough to clear any fuel lying around in there. This may be enough to give it a kick.

On the trucks the common fault is carbon build around the glow plug screen and the little air vent hole, a new plug and screen plus clean small air vent hole fixes most things, every now and then its fan motor time.
Sadly removing the screen destroys it.
These are eberspacher machines, some of the boat forums have loads of info on all makes of diesel powered heater, stoves, air and water types.

Humm be worth a try might be a bit off gunk just stopping it I got the car mid summer so don't know how long it has not worked for 8) when I primed the fuel pump 2 times and tested the glow plug on the webasto software and then I tried to start it I did get a small puff off smoke and then usual cuts out Sad
