Driving home tonight and found this cheeky chappy hanging in the drivers footwell near the footrest, had obviously come from the centre console trim. Any idea what it is and what it should be attached to?
Thanks,
Wil

I've not got a clue
But stick it back where you found it,
It can't be broken as you made it home
No doubt someone who knows a lot more about these things will be along soon to keep you right

It's a blank cap for connectors to keep the crap out of the multi connector plugs. Quite a few all over the Disco where certain parts of the wiring loom connectors are not used.
But then the pic seems to show female pins so could be part of the plugs they used for transport from factory to dealer and some lazy technician has left it behind the centre consolD3 TDV6 S MY2005
Heh yep, everything seemed to be working ok on the drive home so was hoping it was a put it back and ignore it job! 8)
Car is a 54 D3 HSE Auto Diesel. Only picked it up last week so still waiting for all the panels to fall off or something equally horrendous but hey let's be positive
For my next slightly special request. I've been reading about the FBH on the forum and decided to have a little look. As my car is one of the older D3's it appears to have the red wire. However it also appears that someone has connected a blue wire to it and then that blue wire to ground on the chassis. Does this mean someone has done a FBH mod/ timer or otherwise in the past and then removed it?
The FBH was running the other day when it was within parameters for normal operation so I guess I'm winning on that one vs the number of posts I've seen about it not firing. I'm just wondering how easy it would be to add a remote to make the FBH work externally from here or do I have to do the full procedure as per the wiki?
Looks like the blue wire goes into the battery box and a black wire is earthed. Trace them out and see where they go, but does look like a potential remote heater.Mark.
