Door locking question
I've done a quick search but nothing related comes up so here goes,
I set off driving all the doors lock automatically then I pull up go to get youngster out of the back and the doors still locked so have to go round and press the unlock button on the dash it doing my head in , can I stop this happening?

What you are doing is attempting to bypass the security system. It's designed this way so the scroats can't open your doors e.g. when stationary at traffic lights, and steal valuables from the car. The easy solution is to remember to unlock the car on the dash before getting out.
If you really don't like this system, do a search of posts on here. The feature can be turned off, but the advantages on having it on outweighs the disadvantages IMO.

Only my opinion though, as sometimes I think it's a pain in the a e as well,
But I'm not chancing turning it off.

Not sure about your GS but on my HSE I cycle through the stalk till Settings appears on dash display then press 'track forward' arrow on steering wheel controls then press it again 5 or 6 times till the 'auto lock ' option appears then turn off
Appreciate the anti theft aspect but in my sleepy city it's not an issue.
If I venture into rough areas I'll lock the doors myself with dash button
When I first got the car we left it on but soon became a real pain in the getting the kids out

Keep scrolling with the stalk - trip, range, ave fuel, ave speed, overspeed, blank, SETTINGS. in that order
Then use the >> control on the steering wheel to enter the settings menu. Trip distance, fuel usage, temp, over speed, headlamps, AUTO DOOR LOCK. in that order

Remove your keys when going to open the rear door. This should unlock all

As Robbie said. The IID tool will add or remove auto locking. I added it my my base 7 seater last week. I've added the steering wheel controls and Driver enhancement so I can set this and other options from the ( i ) button.Freelander SE 2005 Auto.
