Any 4x4 accessories places doing January Sales?
Just wondering if anyone know's if any of the off road suppliers will be doing any sales or such.
Want to get the D3 a Safari Snorkel but the cheapest so far for the genuine one is £254 ( Yes, i'm aware of cheaper ones but i want the real deal. Not a copy )
Plus some 10 ton shackles for the recovery gear box.
The Snorkel is very much in the "Want" group but it's been a "Want" for long enough, now time to get one. In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

This is the best price. It's £258, not £254.
It was £264 a month or so a go so has went down £6.
Has to be Safari one.In loving memory of FA54WSK.

I also 'want' an LR RAI...
My question, and I know that the clue is in the name when it comes to the 'snorkel' and the Raised 'Air Intake', but do they have different ways of fitting to the air box that makes the RAI less suitable for deep wading?
If this is the case... Can it be rectified, with silicon? 07 Land Rover Discovery III HSE

If the water is that deep to be upto the level of the bottom of the air intake - you are really skating on thin ice (IMHO) - just look in the engine bay to decide how high the water can go before knackering something - the air intake seal going down by the fan and thence onto the turbo is only push fit.Mark.

I always thought that too, but you see some pictures where people have water overe they bonnet!
I suppose the bow wave won't allow water straight into the bay...07 Land Rover Discovery III HSE

The RAI is not waterproof, it's more for sandy driving areas to help get clean air to the engine.
Safari does the above but also is water proof. In loving memory of FA54WSK.

IMHO a waterproof RAI for deep wading would be pointless unless you were prepared to waterproof everything else under the bonnet, all the connectors etc but most of all, the ECU's behind the battery, this seems to be the most vulnerable point.
Personally, I regard a RAI as nothing more than cosmetic, at least for driving around UK roads anyway.Clive

Always thought the L319 RAI looked like a ridiculous, bulky add-on that was designed and manufactured as an after thought with little practical use.
Thoughts haven't changed TBH. Mods:
