Fan running all the time

Hi had my 5 year service done and after it noticed a noise like a fan running all the time it's on the left hand side of the engine just in front of the fuse box it even runs when the engine is warm and been on a long journey and runs for about 5 minutes after the engine is switched of and I've noticed fuel consumption is down a bit , any ideas folks ??

If the noise is in front of the fuse box my call would be FBH fan. My guess is that it did not run before the service and a code reset has awoken it from its slumber.
