Hi this is my first post and after reading through lots of others I can see there is a lot of knowlage on this site. So the thing I was going to ask is I have recently done some miles from Scotland to Wales and I have used Tesco to fill up the first time and bp the second what I noticed was I the fill up from bp gave me 3 mpg more than Tesco has any one else noticed this. Also I am getting an average of 36 mpg (with bp) what are the rest of you getting I had a fl2 before and thought the change to the discovery would mean a fue more stops at the pumps but so far I don't feel it's been that bad.

Any way back to my question what sort of mpg should I expect. Yes I know it don't matter and I'm just going to keep putting more in and driving it around but I was just curious what the real figures are.

The gross weight of 3.2tonne is the maximum permissible weight of the vehicle fully laden with passengers \ cargo load including fluids, fuel and the driver
If it's just you driving around with a full tank then I would guess the actual weight would be no more than 2700kgs 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I'm finding that about 25mpg is the optimum balance between cost and fun
31mpg is possible, but that's a bit Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Ok DG let's call it 2.7 what I have been trying to find out is Landrover claimed the fule consumption has been improved for 2013 I was told this by several people at the garage. Tell me is this true what is an average MPG? I was surprised at the figures I got I was not driving particularly slow.

Well not that I am that concerned or take much interest ....but I am currently getting exactly 31.865236 mpg ...so lets call it 31.9 and that is a mixture of motorway, suburban Surrey and central London.
My 2009MY on the other hand never got above 28 for similar ...my 2006MY never got above 26 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
