Spare Wheel stolen - Space saver replacement?
Hi there. When Disco 4 was in for a service, it was noticed that Spare Wheel had been nicked. No idea how long ago
Am off to France soon so need to get replacement. But it does seem extravagant to have a heavy full sized alloy wheel under your car just on the off chance you get a puncture. What's the general consensus on space savers? Do they fit into the same space with the same bracket?
Presumably much less attractive to tea-leafs?
Thanks
G

They are less attractive and fit in the same manner.
No doubt someone has one that they do not want. No fun driving on a space saver so having a full size spare with a wheel protector appeals to most.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
Without a doubt a proper full sized spare, as driving on a space saver is very limited in so far as speed & distance is concerned.
As Robbie says protect your new (second-hand) spare wheel with an RLD protector from forum sponsor Ray, search the forum for more details, PM him or email:-

Thieving
Get an an RLD protector from forum sponsor Ray asap. I do have a full-size six spoke HSE wheel in very good condition with a road legal tyre for sale. This would be perfect for you as a spare, it did the same job for me when I had my D3 with an RLD right next to it
I want £70.00 for it if you are interested. You would need to arrange carriage (via BidDave) or collection.
Let me know.

Must be a spate going on in Essex at the moment. Ours went a few weeks ago.
I purchased a complete set, if you wanted one of them i would happily do a deal.

Landrover recommend a full size for driving on the continent, then as per previous post, get a protector from Ray at RLD. Great product and his customer service is second to none
