LPG V8 ??

Is the engine in the 05 -06 Disco the same as the Jag engine RR & RRS (post BMW unit)? i.e. do they suffer from the soft Valve problems running LPG??

Cheers

I have known a few of these engines running on LPG and none of which have yet shown any issues even with high mileage. I have one that has done over 126,000 miles 65% of which has been on LPG and nothing as of yet. Not too much hardship in changing them if they do need to be done.

I get 30mpg real world equivalent , not onboard indication, based on several thousand miles driving mixed conditions. Along with this I don't have Timing belts, turbo's oil filter casing issues etc. and I do get to pull away quickly in gaps without a lag. Initial purchase can also be cheaper so I would go for it.

2nd hand with cost of LPG fitting absorbed by previous owner then it does make financial sense. I've ahd a couple of V8 LPG's and would definitely go LPG again if in market for an older 4x4 runabout Thumbs Up
