hiya Im new to the site an looking for some advice on my tail gate the pad on the outside has broke an I cant get it open is there a way to open it from the inside as I cant see any thing inside to open it

If its the upper tailgate press the lock and unlock buttons on the dash at the same time. I started off with nothing and Ive still got most of it left.
