After years of wanting one I finally purchased my first disco 3 at the weekend fr forum member brianabbot. It's a 55 S model but has many upgrades to and is great condition. Big thanks to the other forum member Geoff who guided me through what to look for etc.
Got it for a great price so a little in the kitty for a few upgrades!!

Remap and poly anti roll bar bushes have been my best mods. Plus a tablet in place of the in dash cubby box Current: D3 TDV6 S; GGAT's, DIY 7inch Tablet mount, DIY Reversing Camera, Stage 1 remap, EGR delete
Previous: Freelander TD4, D2 V8, D1 TDI, Series 3 Petrol plus Numerous performance cars!

First upgrade needs to be a Golden Amexco 
If your household does not have em, get quality tools and Baldrian / Valerian drops. Think of doing a Yoga course and relax. 
Once you got all of this you can drive.

Sorry for the poor quality just took some in the rain on my phone. I think any mods will be aesthetic. Definitely need a 13 towbar fitting, back windows tinting, side steps (wife's a short  ) and possible leather retrim (and if I did that, I'd have to replace the interior lights with LEDs.

If its known and well looked after/history etc etc .... best thing you can do ... (I know)
Enjoy the fun D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.
B.A.S - FBHIC. Uncle Rays spare wheel protector. Beanie Silver Black badges.
