Be really careful around the battery box. There are some bits in there that don't like water at all.

hi gareth
haven't looked in the battery box and hoping it hasn't got in there.
this would (I hope) just be the engine compartment.
we went thro a mud pundle last thing and this got splashed up into the bay..so being muddy splashing I hoping it will just hose off with the help of soapy water

It's unlikely that you've got mud in the battery box, what Gareth trying to say is don't jet wash or hose down the battery box cover, as you will get water in there for sure, the transfer box ECU is behind it and water is mysteriously drawn to it causing a premature death as it is as waterproof as a roll of bog roll thats been dropped in the loo!

I gave mine a very careful clean out at the weekend. Following various guides on here I only ran water through the intercooler and radiator to get rid of the mud. then everything else got a very fine mist from a distance and some GUNK cleaner agetated with a medium-soft brush

All the black plastics and rubber bits then got wiped over with AutoGlym trim and bumper care, and the other bits I used a general detailing spray with a brush and a microfibre cloth to buff.

Excluding the Intercooler mud-removal bit the whole lot only took about 40 minutes to do and although it's far from perfect it looks perfectly respectable now.
