Timing a 2.7 tdv6 auto

Hi everyone had quick look through the forum but I can't find what I'm looking for I have rebuilt my hole engine and refitted it back cranks over but not firing I didn't do the timing on this but I think it might be wrong dose anyone know the procedure to timing it and doing it through the flywheel I would be very grateful for the help as its taken me a while to get this job done and I haven't even driven it yet 😂😂 but this is stressing me out thank you

If you have rebuilt it and not checked the timing, why try and start it, if it was out it might have damaged the engine.?

You will need to remove the starter motor and fit the flywheel locking tool, then turn each camshaft to the locating holes to line so you can then insert the two cam locking pins.

Then make sure all the slack in the belt is removed by going anti clockwise from the crank pulley to the belt tensioner and tighten to the little window on the tensioner.

There is a load of posts on this subject.

Flack Thumbs Up

It does take a lot to get these engines to start after a rebuild

Takes a while you get the fuel going.

There is a tyre pressure valve at the rear of the engine.
Bleed air out of that.

You need a well charged battery.

Spray a small amount of easy start into the top Y piece.
Not too much as it can wreck the engine if it pools inside

Then lots of cranking. Stop after 30 seconds and switch off.
