Bit far for me too, and I want T&T. I'm sure something will come along. (but next time I will keep it to myself)
UPDATE Loan Sharan MPV has gone, HURRAH!!!!, horrible thing , now I have a nice new FFRange Rover Vogue on the drive, should give the neighbours something to chat about!
Much better than the Sharan, but in all honesty, I don't think its worthy of the extra money over the Disco. I think the new FFRR will be a huge step forward, but this model has been around for 7yrs now and I think the Disco has it for ride quality and refinement and handling. Love the electric headrests though, and the heated steering wheel
Apparently my car needs new parts fitting so should be sorted by tomorrow. We will see.

I have heard from the LR response guy that the V8 is superb and a real flyer, unfortunately, my hire car is a late 2006 3.0 Td6, although it doesnt feel as slow as I would have expected given the low bhp.

Got a call from the dealers, looking like its going to be next week now before I get the D3 back, , apparently the problem was due to a faulty high pressure fuel pump in the fuel tank?, had a back order on the pump and now they are awaiting the gasket.
So looks like I get to spend the weekend with the Range Rover Vogue, well I suppose its a bit of a change

HP fuel pump is engine mounted, although there is a pump in the tank - just not high pressure...
Ask them if they've checked the injectors for contamination - if the HP pump has failed, there's a possibility of metal shards reaching the injectors if it is the in-tank fuel pump, this won't affect the injectors

TFC, now I am confused, cos he deffo mentioned "High Pressure", and also "in the tank", sounds like I will need to ask further.
Is this a common thing then?, and would this give the symptoms I had, or are they clutching at straws and its just a poor "wet" connection of something as you previously mentioned?

Could be they're changing both
not a common problem at all although it does happen after a misfuel - anything you want to tell us?
Without seeing the DTC's its difficult to comment accurately, although the symptoms could also point ot a problem with the fuel filter (which should also be changed in the event of the fuel tank being worked on)
Hi all,
don't know whether my question still fits here or not:
I'm having the chime and the error whenever I pass the 120km/h or so ..
Haven't had the error on lower speeds yet ..
Switching off the engine, turning it back on, error disappears ..
Dealer tried to fix the problem on 2 occasions, last time (last friday) they replaced the EGR-valve .. to no avail since the error jumped back on when driving home (too late to turn back though)
Will try the reset described here, but don't think that will help, the error disappears whenever I switch off the engine ..
might point the dealer to this thread instead D4

Thanks Dolly,
leaves me quite some options
- fuel filter
- fuel pump
- air filter
- turbo (which I'm afraid is the most likely)
- gear selector cable
none of those were mentioned yet by the dealer
after all, I think the dealer is guessing as well, since the diagnostics weren't clear to them ..
have to say the trick with changing it into neutral and back into drive again, doesn't help in my case .. I really need to turn off the engine to get rid of the slow-go modeD4

Hi,
The dealer changed the fuel filter due the the OBD codes saying there was a problem with the fuel line and it was due a major service. I should have said that the Neutral trick didn't always work and like you said the only exact fix was to restart the engine.
We had it changed about 3 weeks ago and we haven't seen the problem since.
