Track Rod End (Ball Joint) Sizes

Hi .. new to the Disco3 forum , but old hand with Discos, previously had a 300TDi and TD5.

My question relates to Tack Rod Ball joint sizes.

I note that there are two track rod sizes ... mine has an M16 thread ... and a M20. Does this refer to the thread size into the steering rack, and not into the ball joint ... and that further confuses me by many suppliers stating 12mm. Are all Ball Joints the same (at least for early Disco 3's) or is there something I should be looking for? Does the 12mm refer to thread on the balljoint into the hub carrier .. and not the size of the tread on the track rod.

if you are meaning track rod end ball joint...the joint that is next to the outter hub carrying casing then they mean the pin thread
12mm for pre 9A496359
14mm for post 9A496360

if you mean the track arm...as in the arm inside the steering gaiter boot then
the LH arm is M20
the RH arm is M16
and this is the thread into the steering rack
