DE TANGO OF HEAD LIGHTS

Guys I've read a couple of posts on here about de tangoing the head lights and how it can sometimes be a bit of a disaster if not done correctly so it's put me off a bit from doing it up to now.

I get the jist of using the oven or hairdryers to soften the glue and remove the front glass but without wanting to sound too thick, how do you get the glass to re seat itself correctly again once you've taken out the orange lens? Shocked

Likewise does anyone have a link to a source for the new bulbs required once I take the orange out? Very Happy

Sorry to drag this up and sound a but thick about it all Shocked

Kenny Thumbs Up

It's not difficult. I used a heat gun from Aldi. Heated up to separate then heat back up to seal.

Couple of good threads on here to walk you through the process.

Go for it looks great

Allan

Thumbs Up

See pic in the gallery.

Check the indicator bulbs first. I bought bulbs which didn't fit from a company on this forum although they said they were the right ones. Worth checking first

Don't bother with a hair dryer will take you all afternoon !

Thumbs Up

You won't, take your time get the lens to black moulding seal good and hot before you try to separate them, I find it easiest to start by the main beam and work out, every now and then re heat the sealing material Thumbs Up

I have these in mine, without the de-tango:

http://www.hids4u.co.uk/3156-led-indicator-bulbs/

You will need to wire a resistor in, too, to prevent the dash reporting a blown bulb (flashing/clicking twice as fast).
