Have to say, I was fortunate enough to book Geoff in this time around, so he flushed mine last Thursday and I'm soooo glad I had it done!
My gear changes were pretty good before having it done and Geoff did say what came out wasn't too bad, but I'm amazed with what a difference it has made!! Can hardly feel the gear changes now..... it's so smooth!!!
I really do think it's something that should be just part of routine maintenance for all D3's. No way should it be left until 150k!!! I say get it done and keep your gear changes smoother for longer
My thanks again Geoff.... .. still learning )

Thanks Geoff,
Well certainly put me down for the next one as I'm fed up with the bouncing RPM needle and needing to be gentle with the throttle.Regards,

Do you have any plans to come down south in the coming months, my D3 ( a new purchase) has 88k on it, unsure if the g/box oil has ever been changed but she has full LRSH from the original supplying dealer to its one owner. No issues apparent but I gather prevention is better than cure.
Opps sorry shes a 2005/05 HSE

D3 Megafush
As a new D3 owner and a new member of this forum, I can't send PMs so figured I'd add to the list.
Live near Bracknell, Berkshire and can travel so does Geoff do these
flushes at weekends and what's the price.
Car has done 83k miles and has decent history but want to keep on top of servicing
and preventative maintenance as had my D2 for 13 years and hope to keep this old girl
for a very long time.
Geoff, I'm sure you can PM me if you don't want this to go public.

Ooh, that's interesting. I live not too far from Bracknell myself and would also be interested in having this done, so could make it a more worthwhile trip. I'd appreciate some price details too, please.Darren

Well Chris1969, I concur.
Geoff just paid me a visit and did a flush, nice guy and will be looking after my D3 when jobs come up that I am either incapable of sorting or feeling just plain too lazy to do myself !
My oil was black but not too bad as far as Geoff was concerned. he asked me to go for a drive
after the flush and to be honest, didn't notice a whole lot of difference but once he'd gone, I took it for a much longer drive so that the gearbox had a bit of a workout and changes are smoother and the pick up feels a bit quicker so very happy.
This will help keep the gearbox in good shape and increase it's life. I have heard of cars with as little as 50k having to have gearboxes changed so hopefully a bullet dodged.
Thanks Geoff, If I forget, make a not in your diary to call me about the 105k mile service next year, probably about the same time.

Geoff paid me a visit today too, with much the same experience. An extremely helpful and useful to know guy

No great dramas as this was preventative maintenance rather than trying to fix a problem. He also updated my software to give me clock on dash, which was nice 8)Darren

I'm sure it is fine and the bottle is hard to read from the angle shown, but is the coolant level really ok?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
