Ticking Noise

Last night when I removed the key from my LR3, I heard a ticking sound coming from behind the instrument panel in the center area. It appeared to be from behind the radio.

I waited about 15 minutes and the sound did not stop. Several engine starts and wait periods did not stop the ticking. Finally, because I was concerned the battery would drain down, I disconnected the negative terminal of the battery, waited 30 seconds, and reconnected it. The sound stopped and all appears well.

Any thought on the cause of the ticking noise? MHB

Both the four way emergency flashers and the turn signals were off. MHB

mine makes that noise if the radio is on AUX
but the ipod is off Pete
