Spot light switch

Hi all. I have searched but cannot find an answer.

Has anyone installed the genuine spotlight switch, from a D3, into a D4 in the correct location?

This switch:

Thanks!

That’s the thread I bought the D3 switch from! I was hoping to reach out to the D4 people to see if anyone had fitted one!

I opted for a 3-panel switch plate from LR passion which sorts out winch isolated and spotlights

Thank you. I was hoping to keep it OEM but after purchasing and offering up the switch plate, it is going to need some modification to fit:

Maybe the LRP panel is the best option.

Can't you just use it as a template?

I can use it as a template to mark the hole but I need the grey cover to made to fit as the bracket that holds the switch is externally mounted. Dremmel time I think!

From memory there are strengthening webs behind the front trim that would need removed before you can fit a switch in that position. The correct location for the D4 spotlight switch is down on the centre console opposite the handbrake switch. It is also a non locking switch as opposed to the latching D3 one. I fitted a D3 set up to mine as I preferred the larger D3 spotlights but modified the wiring to the D4 set up as I was lucky enough to find a D4 switch and bracket on Ebay. Thumbs Up

D4 switch for front spotlights.

Hi,
I am looking for the switch you have installed for the front spot lights on you Discovery 4.
You mentioned you had if from Ebay, do you have more information for me like brand, supplier and so on as scanning Ebay for this one, I couldn't find it.
Appreciate if you can help out here.
With Kind regards,
Jim Heinen, St. Mary Bourne.

Hi Jim, Sorry for the slow response. The switch I bought was a 2nd hand genuine Land Rover part that was from part of the genuine D4 genuine spotlight wiring kit. I don`t have the part number anymore and the part was bought from a private seller on Ebay. They do come up from time to time on Ebay. It came with the bracket and I cut down the original plastic tray to suit. I`ll keep my eyes open for one and give you a shout if I find one. Hope this helps! Good luck!
