Slight noise/whine when in low range

Tried out low range on my new ish D4 the other day. All works perfectly, but there is a very slight gear whine (or what sounds like it). Not loud at all. To put my mind at rest, is it that "they all do that sir" ?

It's just that I did an LR experience a while back and don't recall hearing it, but then again the off-road conditions would probably have masked anything so small.

Normal I think.
Low range gears are not helical (angled teeth) so are noisier.
