Sill Tread Plates
I'm thinking of purchasing a set of LR sill tread plates (LR Part No EBN500041) and was wondering:
a.) Anyone else got them
b.) Do they cover up and prevent scratches to the sill
c.) Were they worth the money
d.) How easy / difficult were they to fit
I've seen some posts mentioning custom plates made by TASMOD - these look the mutt's nuts but are they still available?I see no ships........
Hi Spiderbaby,
In my opinion the LR sill plates are just for show, as the do no protect the edge of the sill, just the top facing. Discowex organised a group buy from a guy on Ebay for a set of 4 sill plates that protect the whole sill, not just the top facing. See it here:

I think we paid about £30 for the set including engraving. I've not seen the Tasmods but I understand they protect the whole sill as well.....The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

Tasmod's are the DB's
I think they're expensive, but a highly polished and smoother edged version of the DiscoWex arranged version.
Just my opinion
Tasmod doesn't seem to frequent this site too often nowadays, but he can be found regularly on the RRSport.co.uk site. Bodsys Brake Bible
If you get in contact with him, he may produce a set with the engraving of your choice as he did for us....The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

I have been looking at the LR one, but they do seem very expensive,
I think I'll ring this guy as well. They do not seem to be polished which is realy what I am looking for. I wonder if he can do those as well?

All - thanks for the advice. Looks like I'll be giving the LR plates a miss.
I've had a look at a set on eBay which look good but I've also tried emailing Tasmod.
If I find anything out, I'll post.

Will have some ready for sale today (Fri).
I've not been around much as we now have a small garage open at Leeds for remap tuning, service and ss exhausts.
If anyone wants a set of sill plates, please ring 07860 462584 for time being (Different location.)
I can accept Credit Cards and PayPal, as well as good old cash
Webshop is in design at the moment and should be open after Xmas with the range available.

Just spoken to Tasmod about the sill plates and ordered my pair. He's got a few left so I guess it's first come, first served.

I don't know how many you think I sell but in some cases I make a loss after listing a few times on ebay and paypal have their greedy hands on the sale.
It's fine though. Anyone wants any sill plates from now on please contact me direct or through ebay, I won't be posting here any more.
