Reverse detection for 2014 owners

How does this work/ you know if it's working?

All other detection stuff is working perfectly...but I've tried twice to simulate conditions and make it work, but it hasn't.

It might be conditions not met, I've read the instructions and all that is fine (although I can't see a specific enable in the service options....everything else is on)

Any ideas Mike

Had it work a few times on one at work.

With the reversing camera on the blind spot monitoring sensors at the rear of the vehicle should detect a moving vehicle/object approaching the vehicle.
Last time it happened to me it was caused by a white van turning into a gate next to where I was about to reverse out of a car park space. Camera screen lights up with a red triangle on the side of the approaching object and bleeps loudly.

That's what the manual says but I don't think it's doing it...but like I say, I wonder if my simulation isn't right Mike

It's worked on mine on several occasions in the last few weeks, both for cars traveling past me as well as a kid running towards my car.

Probably a daft question but are you sure Reverse Traffic Detection has been switched on.

Go into the Driving Options menu (press OK button on steering wheel).
Check that both Crossing Traffic Detection and Blind Spot Monitoring are turned on.

If not I'm stumped without seeing the vehicle.

If you've received your invitation to a 1/2 day Experience your Instructor would I'm sure be more than happy to have a look and go through it with you.

The blind spot and approaching cars things are all working (see the original) and great...you will see when I picked it up it almost save the car straight away!

Its the reversing out of a parking space ive not had working. There isn't any separate on for that, but twice I would have expected something it hasn't

LRE wont really help...I can go there any day Thumbs Up Mike
