Replacement Key options....?

Hi all,

I have a Discovery 4 2010 and only have 1 key. I wish to get a replacement but need to figure out the best route for this.

Any idea how much a main dealer would charge?

Can I buy a spare key myself and pair it with the car? Where can I get a spare key from?

Do I need any additional tools such as an IIDtool if I wish to do it myself?

Thanks in advance

have a go with the "Search" function. loads of advice on here !

be careful to follow correct instructions for the correct year of D4, later models are more difficult.

for a 2010 buy a key off ebay ~ £20 and an IID Tool to program - IID will pay for itself on resale or by buying second hand Thumbs Up

Hold fire on an eBay key. I bought the me and it doesn’t work at all. Doesn’t transmit anything on either of the two working frequencies.

Any one know of a reliable source to buy one from?

Recently bought one from Ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/433MHz-Remote-...3fe457443d for a MY11 D4 unfortunately the Nanocom could not recognise it but the Gap tool had no problem.
It must be a bit of a gamble, because a previous fob bought on Ebay back in 2018,about the same price, was easily programmed using the Nanocom.
