ISTR that the key stays in the lock when the towbar is not attached to the car. LR's way of making sure you do not loose it I think. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Take the cover off were the electrics should be ..instructions are on the back of it ...

Key will only come out when you slot it in place ( or if you knock the pin in )

To remove pull green knob ( while standing at the back of the car) to the right , then twist downward...mind it don't drop on your toe Sad

The tow bar should then be removed ..the key will stay in it until you put it back it back on again.

I have just been out to check mine and found lock is seized Shocked ..both keys broke ..new lock gonna have to be ordered
 G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi!

Key goes in zig-zaggy bit nearest to you Shocked , grit and c Censored p permitting. WD40 spray may help...

Turn 180° clockwise. Key is now captive.

Pull green thingy to the RIGHT of the vehicle, and rotate it anticlockwise.

VERY HEAVY lump of forged steel will now drop on your foot Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Its almost certainly in the wrong position, there is a pin inside that locks out when key is removed...

Key assembly is available as a spare part worst case...
Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...
