Recent tyre threads or am I missing something? 255/60 R18

Hi, I've searched through here and threads about tyres seems to date back a few years - have the more recent ones been moved or deleted?

I'm in Melbourne, Australia, need to get a set of 4 255/60 R18's (or very close to that) for a 2009 Disco 3 SE. 98% bitumen / asphalt roads, 2% gravel, not planning any serious off-roading. Car came with Nankang Surpax SP-5 M+S on it and I did 4WD driver training and they worked brilliantly and I am not going to do anything more serious than what we did then but the tyres haven't lasted.

I don't want anything that will be noisy on-road and am conscious that this is a UK forum and so not all tyres will be available but can anyone help?

For that mix of driving bog standard road tyres will be fine, you've just hit to figure what's best for that from what you can get. Standard GY Wranglers or Pirelli Scorp Zeros (better handing but half the life). Though no ideas what's available in Oz. Thumbs Up

Did you look in the wheel & tyre section? Lots of current posts there.

I’m running Coopers on mine. Probably more of a 70/30 tyre while you seem to need a 90/10, but they have been brilliant.

There are lots of good highway tyres available down here. My previous mounts have had Hankook, Michelin and BF Goodrich, all have been good.

Maybe try a BFG Long Trail - that’s the kind of mix you are looking for.
 King of the typo.

MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bournville, lots of goodies!

Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

Cheers, doesn't look like BFG have any tires that fit the standard size of 255/60 R18 but I'll keep reading and see what I can turn up
