Power-folding mirrors on remote

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. They used to be reasonably predictable, lock with a push of the fob, wait a second and push twice more, in they'd go.

I recently had my key battery changed and now they won't fold at all - does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Mine did this the other day, I noticed that they weren't folding in when locked so when in the car I pushed both the mirror buttons to make sure they could still fold in manually and they did. After that they have worked on the remote every time now, maybe worth a try Thumbs Up

And it works! Thannks Ian, I'm not sure how they forgot I wanted them to fold, possibly related to the battery change, but now they do... One mystery though - sometimes they'll fold on one click, sometimes it takes a click followed immediately by a long click.

Just one of those mysteries which we love about Land ROver, I guess Smile

Thanks again

Richard

Glad it worked Thumbs Up When I think about it I noticed the problem after the car had been in for service and they mentioned they had updated some software or other on the car. Mine always fold in on the first click however I nearly always tend to double lock it so push the button twice.
 Cheers Ian

I think you have experienced a calibration issues (do your windows one touch up and down?)

When the power is reset or ECU's are reflashed, often the windows etc need to be retrained as to their upper and lower positions - this applies to the mirrors (or did in the sport)

Pressing the mirror buttons retrains it I seem to recall

That would make sense - the windows are fine, but if the battery was disconnected whilst in the dealers workshop, it's possible they calibrated the windows but not the mirrors

From my experience, battery disconnect does not affect mirror folding.

Hi,

My mirrors fold by pressing the knob. But when I am locking the car, they don’t. Why?

That you need a D4 for this to work....

I guess the automatic folding with remote should be possible using the addiional relay inserted between mirrors module and 12V source activating/deactivating when lock/unlock.
Any ideas?

Tom13, Just read your post, Did you get any joy with your auto folding mirrors? I to have the same problem with my D3 HSE 2009. I have had two D3's and two Sports prior to this D3 all HSE's and mirrors folded when locking, this HSE only works manually but not when locking the car. Anybody out there with experience of how to sort this out??
