Has the caliper been replaced? If it’s a Chinese copy rather than a well known brand then my money would be on that. Had one that was freed off worked perfectly but seized again in a matter of days (in fact two days as I drove to Glasgow and back and had to stop in Dundee for DM to replace it..) for the cost I’d always go with replacement. And I know Clive does great work as he’s worked in two my cars I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

I had the exact same issue with mine albeit the near side rear. Local Indy stripped the rears brakes and unlocked a seized handbrake shoe.
Without taking it all sort you couldn’t tell as the handbrake worked perfectly just didn’t release enough in the one side.
Certainly sizzled spit! I got so concerned one night I put the hose pipe on it.
It’s perfect now 2010 D4 XS

So disc was still hot after a short journey.
Had to travel up to Farnborough, (about an hour and a half for me motorway and local roads), Brakes fine.
Travelled from the hotel to the airport and back today and brakes seem fine.
Fingers crossed they may be settling in??
