Oil temperature sensor
Hi, i have a very slight oil leak from the temp sensor. It works fine but its annoying. Can you get a new gasket or is it a new sensor? If so what are tge part numbers, either way.
I did an oil change about 2 months ago and it looked i may have been the first one to do it based on the colour. I am thinking that when I drain the oil, unless it looks really clean, I will fill with fresh and treat as a flush. I don't think I'll do the filter as well, but do you think I should?

Hi
Here’s the part number 1359056
Looks like an O ring , must admit seeing the oil filters aren't that expensive o would change it
Will try and find the size for u
Hope that helps
Edit , can’t find the size I’m afraid , must admit I bought an O ring set off ebay which is always handy

You would think it would be a copper washer.
I don’t know what they have though

As always ur so welcome
Plus 1, ref the O ring set , save a fortune and so handy to have
at least u can Inspect the oil after every oil change and good idea getting it in bulk
Must admit regardless of mileage I always change all my oils and filters , fuel filter I do every other year
Also getting all the bits to fit an oil pressure gauge monitor , can also set the pressure alarm

I love tech, but I swear you seem to invent things to install!!
I've just bought a 360 camera kit, surprised you've not got one. I have fitted a reverse camera, but the connections are different so I'd have to swap tge reverse camera but the one in the kit isn't as good. I'll keep you posted on that one, and tganks again for the info. Take car and stay safe.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

I'm pretty sure your oil will dirty now.
The oil in diesel engines always gets black very quickly. Something to do with soot particles or something like that I think.
Interested to see/hear more about your 360 cameras.

The old Citroen dispatch vans had the oil filler on top of the radiator and i had a customer fill his engine up with water.
Luckily it was so full it wouldnt turn over, i drained it out refilled it with fresh oil and a filter and ran it for hours with the filler cap off.
I then drained it again changed the filter and refilled it with oil and asked him to bring it back for another oil change in a week.
It was a few weeks later before he came back in and he had done over 3000 miles but the oil came out perfectly clean

I am just waiting on some connectors for the cameras as they're small 4 pin connectors not RCA and I want to keep the rear view camera that I have now as its the number plate light one. I will do a thread once I get around to it.
I will also let you know how clean the oil is when I drain it.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey
