When do you get the low fuel warning?
The book said when the car has approx. 12 litre(40 miles) left in the tank, however the trip computer in the car says 28 miles to go before empty, still no warning sign!
BTW, just got round to upload the photos

Mine seems to be with often around 25-30 miles left so I guess it would be any time now.

Picked her up in July, there are a couple of issues but haven’t got time to deal with them.
1) A noticeable click can be heard from underneath the vehicle when you put your hand on the exterior door handle (I presume wake her up from sleep mode). Also a different clicking sounds when you switch off the engine (sounds like High/Low transfer box engaging), not sure if these are normal but they are rather irritating. 
2) There is a green semitransparent shadow on one of the surround cameras, visible at the bottom of the screen. 
Other than that, a very good car

My fuel warning comes on at around 25 miles to go, which I think is too late. It once didn't come on until 13 miles to go! However, I've never got more than 76 litres in, and that was a good 15 miles after it went to zero. I'm going to mention it at it's first service in a few weeks.
As for the camera - mine are all fine. Have you tried giving them a clean (obvious, I know!). Mine go a bit funny if they're wet.

Beefy, I get the same engaging/disengaging noises when I stop the car too. It seems to come from under the car sort of below the drivers seat area. Does anyone else have this and if so what is it and is it normal?

I found that mine gives the low level light at 40km range remaining will go for over 85km after showing "0" range left. At that point, it took 81.5 litres. In other words it will go for 125km after the low fuel light goes on. I've read somewhere on this forum that the engine system "acts up" (eg, gives less power, starts stuttering) when the fuel gets very low, but mine showed no such symptoms at the negative 85 km point. Has anyone run there's to total fuel exhaustion, were there any signs before exhaustion, and does it re-start readily? Given some of our distances between fuel points here in West Oz this may be helpful information. I wouldn't try it without a jerry can (and a toolkit!)
As to the warning being a bit late, I hired a Transit for one of our early house moves (I'd need several artics these days...) and the fuel light came on just as I crossed the A10 in Enfield. I made it quite literally 150 yards before it stopped - just glad I wasn't still in the middle of the junction!

Haha, maybe slightly too low then!
The engine will cut out before the fuel actually runs out, so you can't damage the engine by running it out (which is nice to know!). My hubby always has a go at me for filling it up at zero, but I usually only get 74 litres in, so I don't really see the problem!

Hi All,
Just remember that with fuel pumps fitted inside the tank, they use the fuel to help cool the pump. If you run the tank too low, the pump may get insufficient cooling, perhaps shortening its life. The Bearded Dragon

Our Freelander got very low on the M/Way and as we were pulling off towards a garage at exactly 0 miles range the engine went into a low power mode. We filled up and it remained in low power mode for about 200 yds and then back to normal. No idea how much residual fuel there was or if this would be the same for the D4. Thoroughly enjoying my landrovers in the southwest.

I note, and agree with, Bushwanderer's warning about running low all the time. None-the-less I wanted to know what the ultimate range is, as "up north" (where I go for work occasionally) the fuel stations are about 200 km apart. On occasion, one of them is shutdown for whatever reason (eg, workers quit to work at a mine site, ran out of fuel, lost power generation). The choice is then to delicately drive on to the next one or wait up to 2 days before fuel is delivered (or new workers arrive, gennie is fixed, etc). I generally try an keep the tank >1/2 full to minimise moisture condensation in the tank's vapour space. hi beefy, a friend of mine works at gaydon. he told me disco 3/4 cannot run out of fuel, if they do ever run dry it will break the pump. there is a software program to cut in to simulate a missfire to make you fill with fuel. i have taken my disco 3 way past 0 miles on the range setting
