Loss of radio audio

I have a 2009 (2010MY) Disco4, I’m new to Discovery ownership, and not mechanically or electrically gifted, but I do have a good Indie who will look after my vehicle.

My vehicle has A strange fault.
Driving along, and suddenly the radio audio goes off. Screen still showing all the stations, but no sound at all from any speakers. Changing stations on the screen has no effect, switching the audio off and on has no effect either.

Once I’ve stopped the car, and restarted, everything is normal again - until the next time.

Any suggestions anyone please?

You may well find that the aerial is loose, I have a 2012 with DAB and I have an issue with dab which the codes indicate it’s the DAB aerial. Mine, like yours, will go silent but look to be playing. If I change source from radio and back to it again it works. My DAB sometimes displays but not all of the time and when it does display it can’t find channels. One of those jobs that I haven’t got around to sorting yet.

Ah, thank you for that Lewis, that’s helpful.
Although, I lose all sound completely, including even when the iPod is playing (connected via the correct LR lead), and the iPod tracks continue to progress - just no sound.

So I’m thinking head unit, amplifier or the fibre optic connector?

I would definitely look at the modules to see if there are any loose connections first. If you have managed to get the DTC codes read then that should help a great deal!
