Log in trouble

Martin,

I am having real trouble with logging in. This has been going on for some time now and I have persevered with it but it is becoming a real pain.

The problem is that I can log in and it displays 'Log out [espri]' but then, after submitting a post, rather than the confirmation that the post has been accepted, the log in screen is displayed again - and after I have logged in again any post is lost (except that I have become used to copying the post to the scratchpad before submitting).

Demoralising that is Crying or Very sad

Assuming you've done all the normal clearing the cookies and the like try this... a bit bizzare but it worked for me a while back when I was having issues... assuming you're logging in by clicking the top right link and then logging in on the next page try using the login box at the bottom right of the home page instead, or t'other way round if you already use that one. No guarantees it'll work but it's got to be worth a try, probably best to clear cookies and try again if it doesn't help the first time you try

I tried to post again to this thread from home yesterday evening (and even eventually tried to PM Martin too) but every time, although I was already logged in, I was presented again with the log in display and then l lost the post again. That was after deleting cookies.

Now I'm trying again from the office, to see if that works better. Although I named this thread 'Log in problem', maybe the trouble is rather with posting.

I'm still having a lot of trouble posting from home. More often than not the log in screen appears when I click submit, although I am already logged in. Occasionally I manage to get through but I don't understand why.

Since nobody else seems to have the problem, I suspect that the trouble is rather with my Windows. But what can make the board software display log in, when I click submit and am already logged in?

I have this problem. Do you use Firefox? I have no problems if I use IE, but seem to have the problems with FF.

I now log in manually on each visit, before trying to post.

I suppose I am used to it. There are bigger things to worry about Wink

No, I'm using IE, both at home and at work. Presently I don't have any trouble in the office but posting is a pain at home and seldom works first time.

As you say, though, worse things happen at sea.
