After lots of searching I found a company that in the Uk that will provide comprehensive insurance for the above countries. The policy is underwritten by Lloyds. However you will still need to acquire a green card for third party insurance.

Norwich Union/Aviva cover Morocco as they treat it as part of Europe.
Local insurance that you can purchase at the border crossing is very cheap and is worth getting as its a Moroccan company. We get both, if one gets involved in an accident use the Moroccan insurance to keep the local authorities happy Thumbs Up
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

"Old" LR Insurance (RSA) covers Toonesia fully comp. New one doesn't. Was advised that Norwich Union did cover that part of the world but NU Direct didn't. Luckily didn't have to change.

Just spoke to Norwich Union in-house broker and they said they could not provide cover.

the link below is for a moroccan company which at least enables you to estimate the cost of the insurance there:

www.dafali.com/simulationfrontiere.php

the port we arriving is Ceuta and I am told you can not buy insurance there anymore.

My local office would give you a green card to cover you third party only. Sometimes they charge you for it, sometimes they don't.

They seem to have a lot of discretion with what they can and can't do - your local office may vary. Unless it's Chapel as well Wink

I got the green card for free third party only, but they wouldn't offer fully comp.

this is an extract from an agent in Morocco who can provide comprehensive insurance however I think I will stick with Lockton as the quote they have given is under £150 and a green card from the NFU, from memory, is £50. the estimated quote from the moroccan campany works to be around the same.

Lockton insurance are the company who are providing us with special off road insurance cover for the Mac 4x4. Obviously they specialise in unusual situations.
