If you haven't yet bought it, think carefully about what you want it for. If you want any kind of distance, forget any of the cheap Ebay ones and get something with reflector facing LEDs, or a set of lamps.
Wiring - you can run a feed from the back of a headlight (soldered and heatshrunk connection is best; don't use Scotchloks) to a relay by the battery, across the engine bay and through the bulkhead to a switch inside and then to a ground point. A power feed via the relay and bob's your uncle. You're looking for Blue/Slate on the left or Blue/Black on the right for the main beam.
This is based on a pair of lamps, but exactly the same principle:

In terms of light bars, I'd recommend either the PIAA RF series or Lazer Triple-R series. These position the LEDs facing the reflector, so they make efficient use of the light from the LED and produce a decent beam - when this is not done, the majority of the light never hits the reflector at all so the beam is both weaker and much less controlled. They aren't cheap, but even smaller ones will let you see further, whereas with the basic ones, you can go as big and bright as you like but still not see further.

my 300W 50" Ebay cheapy is on the front of the FR rack

Works very well for the use it was intended for - cutting down the wind noise from the rack and does a good imitation of turning the immediate surroundings from night to day when illuminated
I converted the two XGT240's with 40W LED kits and they are much better for distance and theeeeennn......???
