Dealer (under LR technical guidance) advised that it was caused by the car not being correctly taken out of "transit mode" - they re-ran the sequence & I am monitoring this.

Infotainment Crash

Mine has done this 5 or 6 times and takes a random amount of time to reset. Incidentally next week I am having an infotainment software upgrade to "cure" this and also the C.D player running all the time even when the radio is on.

Infotainment Crash

Count me in for this one. My order arrived in Spain a month earlier than expected, but I might spend that much time with delays.

The car spent a week in for PDI. When I was about to drive it away: LR logo stuck on the screen, mute stereo, no voice command.... I saw them put it back and take it out of transit mode and still reported errors.

Two days later, supposedly fixed (bad fibre-optic connection to the audio amp. and low battery), but it came right back the next day. They're still looking for the fault while I drive a loaner SE manual (by the way, I'm glad I got the automatic!)

Has anyone had this fixed? TDV6 HSE running version 8 with Premium sound and Nav.

Ecosse, it's been several months since your post, have you had any luck?

An update and possible fix for this issue:

The sound unit under the passenger seat was replaced and the problem hasn't returned for three days now. I think they've got it.

Infotainment Crash

Mine crashed too....

First time was after a prolonged period with heater on... display said "SYSTEM OVERHEATING - SHUTTING DOWN".

After half an hour or so would come back on but only for short periods. Dealer said needed country setting to be re-programmed which they did. Has been fine since until August in South of France ... - System locked up with last tuned in radio station on display but could not alter / volume knob etc had no effect.

Just been given some more waffle from the dealer as to what might be wrong..

Any ideas ?

In my case it was communication problem with the amplifier that was freezing the system, so replacing the unit solved it. You might have something similar but intermittent. If that's the case, the connections could be checked, or the unit replaced.

If you press 2 buttons at the same time or too quick it freeze's, have to turn the ignition off anf back on again for it to workagain.
so if your driving, have to pull over and re-start!

most infotainment issue can be rectified by battery hard reset and reconfiguring the necessry modules.

when a module is replaced it would need to configured -so it could have been the hardware or more likely in my opinion a corrupted configuration

the overheat comment-check your facial vents -came across an issue where heat was being directed onto the head unit resulting in an overheat situation

Radio / CD Lock Up

A further development on this one....

Had radio on , stopped car, turned ignition off, keys out, doors locked.......Radio still playing!!!!!

Radio now been playing for 5 hours (no display in screen other than Landrover Version etc) fortunately volume not too loud (its now 12.30 am!!

I assume only way to stop it would be to disconnect battery but I cant be bothered !!!

Looks like a trip to dealers in morning!

I am pretty sure I know how to fix this issue, whether you would want to do it or not might be another story.

If you enter the settings menu by switching the radio off, then on, and holding down the select knob on the right hand side. Then enter the Secondary menu by holding this knob in again.

Scroll through the pages, and there will be a page with TEMP, VOLT, TIMER etc.

You can change these by pressing the number keys. I would imagine that if you increase the 'TEMP' setting, it will operate until the system reaches a higher cut out temperature.

I'll give it a try in morning.

If it all turns nasty I'll still take it to the dealers and say I never did it!

I tried this out with the VOLT setting, adjusting it to 135. About five minutes after turning off the car, but with the Radio on, Nav screen displayed 'Low Power Shutting Down'

I couldn't restart the Radio until I had driven the car for about five minutes.

I havent had problems with the whole system crashing, but Ive recently developed a problem with the steering wheel controls on my TDV6 S. The most annoying thing is that it is intermittent, sometimes (but not always) solved by swithing the radio off, or switching off the ignition. The Mode, volume and up/down buttons sometime do not respond at all, or sometimes carry out each others function. The cruise control buttons on the other side are unaffected. Does anyone else have experience of this, or ideally some sort of fix. I live a long way from my dealer and dont want to take a whole day out to try to get it fixed before the next service, but its a pain.
