France 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 XS Manual Unknown ColourDiscovery 3
Headlights

Hi

So I have a bit of a what do I do now problem

I have just bought a 2008 Disco 3 2008 XS

It is fitted with a Halogen lights

I need to export it to France, I live there

So trying to find EU lights for it at a reasonable price

Would Xenon lights work ok, if a problem happy to replace the halogens

Would UK spec Xenons pass the French MOT with the temporary driving in Europe adjustment done

Any advice will be appreciated

D4s have a lever to adjust the beam to "flat" for Europe ... do D3s have same ? .

No, I took out a light today and there are no adjusters in them

Portugal 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Zambezi SilverDiscovery 3

My UK 2005 D3 has xenons. They have a lever that changes them to a flat beam so should be okay for France.
If you get xenon lights its best to take the bulbs out so you can see the shutter is completely up to give the flat beam. D1 300TDI ES. just kept going, sold at 170k miles, body beginning to rust
D2 TD5 GS. sold at 140k, chassis beginning to rust
D3 TDV6 SE. 194k Still going.

Export to Spain

Hi All,

Glad to have found someone exporting not just driving abroad!

I'm importing my 2012 D4 with halogen lights to Spain where I live. I have done the conversion with the levers but does anyone know if this is sufficient to get through a Spanish ITV (MOT)?

Did it work on the export to France?

I have seen in the manual that LHD models do have different headlight units but I'm still hopeful. Thanks to anyone posting on this forum, I've ended up here so many times.

Just in case anyone ends up here looking for the info i was...

The headlight conversion with the levers isn't sufficient to pass a Spanish ITV/MOT. I had to have them manually converted.
