A-frame with Landrover driving lamps and damaged mud flap !
Following my post back in October I finally managed to find a set of driving lamps at the Ripon LR dealer. I had them fitted a few weeks back and here's the result. The car is fairly mucky after a weekend in a very wet rural Ireland ! As mentioned by some folks these lamps don't improve much on the headlamps. A slight improvement is most noticeable when driving on country lanes with no street lamps.

Whilst in Ireland I also cracked one of the front mud flaps. Not from serious off roading, I just went up on a verge in a narrow lane ! I'd like to meet the idiot in LR design dept. who thinks that this type of mud flap makes sense! There's no way I'll buy a new one until it falls off !

Halfrauds now stock the Sparco version of Wiggs mudflaps, just cut them to size and secure them - IIRC £14 a pair
for the opaque ones favoured by boy rallyracers but they are also sold in black plastic too.
Edit - have just googled sparco mudflaps and the choice of design and colour is bewildering and prices from £11 to £20................... but sorry for misleading you - any colour so long as you don't want BLACK!

I like the Sparco mud flaps but I think I would like black !
What do you think about fitting mud flaps for a Defender, would they be big enough? I may drop round my dealer tomorrow and have a look.

Defender mud flaps are HUGE, and expensive if bought from dealers. I replaced the set on my Def90 about 3 times after reversing over them offroad or just tearing them off, I even had tie ups for them for offroad but they still suffered................... now I put up with a Niagara Falls of spray out the back in wet weather and have given up buying replacements. Defender flaps are also made to shape and you could probably get 2 Disco3 flaps out of 1 Def rear flap! Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300

LR Lamps
ISTR reading elsewhere on the Forum that the reflector on these lamps is designed to produce more of a floodlight than a spot pattern but stand to be corrected by those more technical than me.
I replaced the standard H1s in mine with Osram Nightbreaker H1s which, whilst still only 55 watt, produce up to 90% more light than standards. Polish EBlag sellers offer the best prices for these.
