Found decent heavy duty rear tailgate struts
Since fitting the rear ladder, my already creaking tailgate struts can now only just hold it open, indeed a broom is usually needed to keep it open
Details listed below, these are designed to take the ladder weight

SGS Engineering.
These are the standard ones but I seem to remember if you contact them they do Heavy duty ones that are meant for tailgate fitted with a ladder.
Word of warning stand well back when you press the release button, even the standard ones nearly took my head off after I fitted them
