Footwell lights

Whilst on a mass LED bulb change (thanks to our very good sponsor Advanced factors Thumbs Up )I remembered the footwell, drivers side no problem all done, passenger side, well I pulled the light down and it's not plugged in so undid and pulled back the trim and no plug, nothing, even looking up into the wires I can't see any sign of it, so my question is this suppose to work if so when the hells the plug for it.?

conductors must be there

You have an HSE so the pair of conductors must be there somewhere.

You might find the cable on the transmission side of the lower glove box as perhaps somewhat was fooling with the heater AC and the cable got misplaced.

My problem is that I cannot get the drivers side cable to unplug from the little light assembly - probably sort of heat fused in - a good reason for changing from the hot W5W to the cooler LED bulbs.

drivers door puddle light

I assume the drivers door puddle light had enough slack in it; as such the passenger door should have sufficient slack as well.

Either the factory goofed up the harness install and the light was never connected or the cable is just tangled from some previous door card off exercise.

I would get a pillow and bright light and lay under the door and fiddle for quite awhile before I attempted pulling the door card off. For me, that is not a fun task.

It's just impossible with sausage fingers to try and reconnect it, I will try and get a pair of long nose pliers and try that way as I don't fancy taking the cards off, yes the all the other doors were a 2 second job. Thumbs Up

Well it turned out it the rear door not the pass Embarassed that took 2 minutes to sort with long nosed pliers.

As for the footwell light I striped all the trim under the glove compartment and nothing no wires anywhere for the light, nothing tucked up, Nowt, then just like a ill fitting jigsaw it took me ages to put it back together Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head

Gone walk about it seems.

I imagine the footwell light harness will show up someday when you are back down there on some unrelated activity.

At least you won re the rear door puddle light so it sounds like 5 out of 6, not bad really.

I had exactly the same issue with drivers side footwell light....

Changed all the interior bulbs for led's today & I knew the drivers footwell lights wasn't working, popped the cover out, bulb & holder there but no wiring!!

Took the trim panel off & had a poke about with a torch.. Cant find any wiring hanging about!

Not so fussed that I'll be taking any more trim off as I'll only end up breaking something! Very Happy

Me too, no puddle light gubbins in driver's side. Put it down to someone either running out of their 90 second slot or CBAed during manufacture.

I've fitted the Land Rover projected logos to the front puddle lights.. They look fab.
I'm changing all other interior bulbs to LED's. All going well so far except for the left rear puddle light.. Connect is there, tried bulbs and housing that I know work on other doors, but it's still not working.
Could this be a sticky door switch? If so, where is the switch that operates the puddle lights?

Hi everybody!

I have a 2005 Discovery 3 hse  LEFT HAND DRIVE   and i'm trying to locate the footwell light wire on the passenger side.
I've already taken all the plastic parts aside,  and i'm stearing at the cables, but the lamp wire is nowhere to be seen.
Could someone please share a photo so that i could compare, and hopefully find out where exactly it comes out from the main cable.

 Thank you!

I added the passenger footwell light and the lights in the underside of the doors to shine a light on the ground when the doors are opened. On the underside of the doors, the impression was there in the door card which I cut out with a sharp knife. I stuck my fingers in and found the wires and connector, taped up with black tape. Easy job, didn't have to remove the door cards.
The one in the passenger footwell tucked away, it should be there (I don't have a photo). The footwell wire connector was wrapped in a small piece of grey foam then black tape.
