A few times recently when coincidentally on similar journeys the exhaust has started to make a really funny burbling kind of noise, like the exhaust is blowing a bit. It is normally after a short trip on the motorway then as I get off I begin to hear it. It is very noticeable at about 20 - 30mph and disappears a bit once you go above this speed but after a while smells hot. Once the car is shut down and restarted its fine.
LRA payed me a visit today after my battery died and it asked them about it, he reckoned it was the Disco cleaning the DPF and it will do it in a cycle every so often. I've never read anything like this before and just wondering if anyone else experiences anything similar ?

It just sounds so wrong when it does it, thought it was the exhaust failing! At least I am now reassured it's just another 'land rover thing' that I can ignore

Skep had the same thing and got some great answers as always from DG..... If you read what processes are actually going on when yours makes this noise it's incredible the lengths JLR went to to reduce emissions...
