Engine Refurb Companies

Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience with any of the companies offering engine refurb and refits?

I have a TV6, 2006 that seems to need a bottom end bearing replacing Big Cry . I do not have the space, kit, knowedge or time to be able to do this myself. So, it's either scrap the whole thing, or spend ~£3k having it refurbed.

There are a couple of places offering a full refurb/refit at around the £3k mark, with 12month/12000mile warranty.

Sounds better then spending out on a replacement vehicle.

Any experience or thoughts would be most welcomed!

Cheers.

Reports of those posted here have never been good. Especially an outfit in Paisley. Mosst go for scapped second hand engine fitted by a reputable fitter

Thanks. Tried looking for experience in the threads on here, but struggled to find anything.

Perhaps a new engine is a better bet?!

there is a fair bit - often in engine failure threads. Quite a few looked a Jag engines when Disco/RRS not available. New ones are prohibitively expensive. Good breakers yard may be your best bet.

Just remember where your towel is.......

Thanks Pete K, Alex08, I'm now back to thinking it's just not worth the grief and cost. May just go and buy and old Micra and call it quits! Big Cry
