Finished the aux power and, fitted additional led lighting to the boot, (will add photos after it’s dark) new bonnet catch.
Mounted the battery charger in the garage now I have the charging socket on the front grill, and sorted the storage bag for the 25ft lead.
Also received the gubbings for my DIY rear awning, couldn’t resist trying it, even though there was no space on the drive or anywhere to peg the guys
Clips to the rack, and making up some custom strap & hooks to secure to the wheel arches when in use rather than bodge it to the wheels.2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Today:
Replaced the existing xenon bulbs with Osram Xenarc Nightbreaker xenon bulbs as the right hand side bulb was getting yellow (probably the original installed one).
Replaced all windscreen wipers with Bosch Aeroblades (AR5505 front, H403 back).
All in all a some nice TLC after the 4 new Pirelli Scorpion Zero’s day before yesterday.

Replaced the start/stop button as it was slightly worn and the writing wasn't clear (yes I have OCD ) and also replaced the humidity sensor by the mirror.
Neither item affected any functionality on the car but they just weren't right (although the sensor did throw up a code on the IID so that's gone now as well).... and relax I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Not quite overlanding, but got a new (to me) tent sorted today, taking my 4 yr old for his first camping trip later in the month. SWMBO hasn’t noticed yet that it just happens to colour match the D3

making my own brackets for lights on my roof rack with what i could find around the garage. quite please with the results
These were a pain, originally made from 1.5mm mild steel sheet so i could bend it to the shape of the roof rack bar. Decided they were too weak and flexed so much so welded in all these fillet peices to strengthen them
and then use some over the top 60x60 angle and alot of grinding discs to make the rear light mounts

Changed the rear upper arms. My reciprocating saw was too bulky and couldn’t get in at the bolts so had to cut the arm away bit by bit with the 4 1/2” grinder. The front bolt into the hub knuckle was also seized solid so had to melt the nylon center out before pressing out the bush. Thankfully a local place had 2 in stock as I hadn’t got one. Started at 9:30 and finished at midnight. The front lower arms took less than 2 hours as they had been done before and the bolts greased. Also changed the auto box pivot lever as she was popping out of drive. A bit of lube spray had cured it but what an amazing difference to the shift with the new pivot! Amazingly smooth and precise now. Alignment done today after the suspension work. And my reward for all of this..... there is a leak in the roof somewhere.

Changed the front end accessory drive belt along with the tensioner and idler. The old ones were still serviceable but it's definitely quieter now. Easy job with the correct viscous fan spanners!!!

Tailgate latch
I finally got round to replacing my tailgate latch on the first free warm day for a while. I got a used replacement from eBay and was happy that it worked OK. The cable in the old unit was still secure, so I'm not sure why it had given up the ghost. I can now re-purpose the ratchet strap I was using to keep the tailgate closed!
