Discovery 4 HSE SDV6 driving abroad
Hi, new to the forum and hope someone can help. I've just bought a new D4 HSE SDV6 and looking in the manual it says that for driving abroad that I should go to the menu control on the steering wheel and select vehicle set-up and then select high beam assist. When I go into the menu for vehicle set-up, however, there is no option for High Beam Assist!
I didn't spec the car myself, I took a stock car but I thought xenons were now standard fit on the HSE?

Xenon's are standard on the HSE, but high beam assist isn't. If you're prepping for BFG, you don't need to do anything as the car has a flat beam.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you still don't need to worry, because the car has a flat beam, and so driving in Europe doesn't require you to do anything.PAGODA

Don't you still need to flick the switch inside the headlight? Or is it different on the 2014 model?

I think the point pagoda is making is that the flat beam shape on the xenons means you are unlikely to be flashed-at when driving on the other side. You can still flick the lever to shift the beam horizontally but many do not bother.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I haven’t really looked at my beam pattern, although I'm sure it has a flick up towards the nearside.
It was more that I was thinking of this part of the manual. I have to admit on my FL2 with Xenons I never bothered to flick the switch when abroad and no one flashed me.

I have never bothered and never really got flashed However this year was flashed a lot not sure why or what diffrence there was.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Stuck shutters or suspension issues are common causes for an apparent change in light pattern. That said contaminants on the headlight can make them dazzle a little more than usual.
