Mine doesn’t consume oil, either, between changes. Both output and input is measured. Thumbs Up

I find that after the oil change the dipstick is so clear you are unable to read it without a light reflection. Wonder if this was misread as having no oil?

If I checked the oil now after 3500miles it would still be light coloured

This is the picture the mechanic sent me of the dipstick... But I don't know whether the car had

been driven before this or not.

Had a chat with him. Armed with what I already knew and the much appreciated inspection provided by my fellow Celt!

He was not budging on price at all! Turns out no history. He's hoping to sell it to some mug as he offers no warranty at all.

At £4K I would have taken a punt knowing that it was gonna cost me a complete suspension refresh and probably a compressor.

But not worth the £5k at that sort of mileage.

I'm looking at a mint SE log burner in Bristol at the moment with FSH L/R 72k for £10 that wants for absolutely nothing!

So what was the list of items?

In 5yrs I've done.

Gearbox flush
Sunroof drain / scuttle adaption
Parking sensors / dash speaker
Belts / tensioner / plugs / PCV
All the oils (transfer box overfilled)
Brake hoses and pipes
LR discs and pads all round (handbrake shoes)
Front arms (RRS) / new structs / droplinks / track rod ends
Front bearings
Rear arm / droplink / sway bars
Fuel strap (the other was scabby)
New GKN prop
New side steps / cill check and paint
New air valve blocks front and rear

Probably loads of small items but alas I cant recall.

Can't do it. Too many variables that don't line up. If I had a proper garage and a ramp then yes. But i do all my maintenance on the drive on my back!

So, last weekend did the throttle body and it was caked in s***, all clean now but noticed the coolant bottle bleed screw looked a little dodgy. Tried to tighten it and it loosened

Thought strange, tried to order a new one but LR don’t do them for my bottle now.

The other day I took it out, cleaned the thread and thought it was ok, run the bleed procedure and no leaks

Then today noticed when I went out that there was coolant pooling underneath, on a recovery truck off to my local garage, bleed screws gone Big Cry

Looking on my drive when home, looks like it started leaking last night after a short journey

Luckily the bottle still had coolant in it, albeit about an each from the low mark, when it went on the truck so I don’t think I’ve done any engine damage (fingers crossed)

New bottle time though!

Yeah that’s really filthy. This is mine about a month ago but originally it was nowhere near as black as yours. It was slightly brown and only worse immediately around the valve itself. Cleaned it up with warm water and detergent.

Replaced rear brake disks, brake shoes & all components, calipers, caliper carriers, brake pads. Replaced the brake fluid, too, at the same time.

The left side (so driver’s side on LHD) piston had stuck and worn out the pads to almost nothing. Additionally the brake shoes on that side were down to metal.... Shocked no wonder my fuel consumption was through the roof recently.

I must say Bodsy’s Brake bible was an insanely handy resource when replacing everything. The EPB sounds completely different when activating and deactivating. I’m amazed. Thumbs Up

Does anyone have stainless steel braided brake hoses in their car? If yes, whose kit did you use? I need to eventually change the hoses and don’t really want to get the default rubber OE hoses.
