Discovery 3 - Air Suspension...a sinking feeling....
Hello All,
Any advice would be appreciated, have the all too familiar yellow suspension fault lamp. Been into specialists with code pointing to faults on the rear height sensors, renewed (no difference) the rear valve block, renewed (no difference) and a new compressor, no difference!
None of the 'Special Programs' are available and also has the behaviour I have seen other members having with OSR suspension sinking when rear passenger door is open.
All air springs are holding air, no leaks anywhere, but the computer is very upset about something?
I can get back to driving height by repeatedly starting engine while pressing the raise switch by gearbox and then remove 20A fuse F26 to keep it there but car thinks it is in 'Access Height' and is firing out warnings while driving and I would like to solve it.
I suspect a wiring fault between rear of car and air suspension module, can anyone tell me how to access the module behind the dashboard (Right hand drive) and where the likely hot-spots are for frayed wiring related to this fault?
Not prepared to give any more money to 'specialists' to fit parts and clear DTCs for a few seconds, it's down to me now.......back to my youth and tool box, hope my overalls still fit
With thanks
Andrew

Instead of paying to have the codes read you should have invested in your own diagnostic reader
Im sure a GAP IIDBT will solve all your issues or give set you on the road to sorting your problem

Thanks, since having new parts fitted I've bought a Bearmach Hawkeye, its showing fault codes to parts that are proven to be OK, that's why I think its wiring problems.

Hiya
What faults codes are u getting plse
Not familiar with the bearmach, did u get the total one plse , , ie, if u can do recalibration of the suspension or can see the live data of the height sensors
if u do wish to also check the height sensor wiring / connectors and not telling u how to suck eggs but plse ensure u pull fuse F26 and put some axle stand underneath as an extra precaution whilst having ur hands inside the wheel arch
Plus to ensure the wiring is ok on the reservoir valve block as that opens to supply the rear valve block , diagnostics can hopefully also show u if the reservoir valve is opening
Hope that helps

Thanks for your reply.
The codes I'm getting are C1A34 and C1A36, left hand height sensor and rear valve.
I can't recalibrate as the Bearmach won't continue while faults are present.
Yes, F26 is already removed thanks, that's how I'm still able to drive it without OSR corner deflating when I open the door.

Ur so welcome , always a team effort
So the codes u have are
C1A36-01 Exhaust Valve (General Electric Failue) , plus

Because u can’t communicate with the ecu I would personally start checking the wiring , of course disabling it before hand if checking for wiring continuity , ie F26 or battery disconnection
As urs is a 2009 the connectors start behind ur drivers side headlight , then run down the passenger side chassis , by the reservoir valve block and compressor then into a large connector behind ur passenger side wheel arch, as u look at that wheel it’s in front of it
Then wiring conntinues to the valve block and height sensors
Here’s also a wiring diagram , so at least then with the use of a multimeter can test ohms the loom between connector at the rear wheel and ur valve block , height sensors etc
