My D3 6 years on changed a lot thanks to this amazing forum
My 54 plate Disco bought with 82k on
6 years to the day I’ve had him and just clicked over to 246k so a new mod needed
Decided to tackle something I’ve been toying with for while had all the bits so went for it
— d4 centre console with the much nicer terrain response and all chrome bits that matches the landmark interior and door cards I fitted last year,
Still got some leather work to do for new side panels and bits trimming but it fits,
Will do this when I decide where to go with the stereo was thinking large android 10” but not sure
Terrain response straight out d4 isn’t plug and play but the circuit board in the d3 one is identical size and fit straight swap after striping so now works perfect so didn’t have to play with can bus just had to extend the wiring to accommodate the change in position,
This is my Mods list to date to what was a factory d3 s press car from 2004
D4 bumpers
D4 facelift to d4.0 facelift to d4.5 lights now bought just need front bumper
D4 exterior trim,
D4 landmark interior created new can master node so seats have full operation ,
TVs removed jailbroken Amazon fire tablets fitted, also in cubby in car WiFi module fitted
D4 landmark door cards lock and unlock working still haven’t been able to sort memory but working on it
D4 steering wheel
D4.5 mirrors working with fold
D4 indicator wiper stalks
Auto lights installed (new windscreen) auto dip mirror
Privacy glass, Roof rails , nav Ariel (stripped and fitted dab Ariel instead)
holes cut for fog/dsl lights front parking sensors fitted same time
D5 20” wheels
Mechanically wise I’ve pretty much done it all in six years and 160k
turbo , crossover, handbrake module, compressor all pipes, air Tank fr rear struts , wiring
For those thinking why not just buy a d4 ?
I enjoy doing the mods trying things out see if it can be done I could go buy one if I wanted
but where is the fun in that?
I am a mechanic and auto electrician so that helps and I look out for bits for my next mod over time
Until I’m ready to go for it so I keep costs low, I do have other vehicles too
