Both Pelyma and Simon have followed me and I don't hang around I think they will agree, but I return on average now 28.7 mpg man diesel V6 all types of driving, but I ran my vehicle in carefully and carried out an oil change at 4000 miles. I also start from the open country, not a town or city usually. The figures include the offroad as well and since I have had the car.

| Caravan towing Diesel usage |

Well, just returned from the weekend away towing the full size caravan.
The trip out was 210km and driven 50/50 auto only and command shift mostly on freeways it returned 17.4lt per 100. The trip back (same route) we left it 100% in auto mode and got 17.9lt per 100 or about the 16MPG mark !
I'm hoping this should improve when it gets run in more. Brian

Today I'm testing driving a Prado Grande, well the comparison has to be done, I know a Toyota sales manager very well and can also get great fleet discount via Master Builders Association.
Surprise! surprise, not overly impressed, yes its a nice car and has a strong petrol motor and a number of things standard that the Disco does not have but the rest of the car seems old, hence when paying this type of money you really want a modern car.
Anyone have much experience with the modern Prado?
Also went to the 4WD Adventure show on the weekend, great setup very well put together, just a pitty I didn't have more time, but did notice all the good things be said about the Disco3.
Thanks for everyone feedback, we'll see what the dealer has to say this week.

OK so here are a few more questions for those who can help with regard to the V6 petrol D3, is the dollar difference between a SE petrol and SE desiel realy worth it.
Firstly, I love the TDV6 to drive no doubt, but the V6 petrol seem fine also, thing is I don't pay for fuel, my company does, so when it come to economy this isn't a huge deal, but notsaying I want a gusler either.
But AUD$8000 can go a long way to other options, camper trailer, gear etc. etc.
So let me know what you think! Thanks

Torque will be well down so I would go for the diesel, which I assume is more expensive.
The Prado is the LC over here (I think) I have been in one, nice enough car but does not have any of the finesse of the D3. The off road performance was ok but boy did it make hard work of it. If you want a 4x4 that can really go offroad I don't think any other car comes close as an all rounder and that includes any other LR product. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
