Christmas dinner

Not having the usual Turkey dinner this Christmas.
In fact, never had it ....... hate the stuff.
So, this year since it's almost seasonal, I've just been out and bagged myself a Haggis.
Having it with roast plus boiled potatoes and brussel sprouts.
[sprouts are all mashed up and cooked differently to get rid of the sprout taste - recipe could be traded].

Here's the little babe I bagged earlier.
MMMmmmm ........ tasty!!!
 I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

We got our order in early for the big day in January. Apparently they have not been breeding enough and there will be a shortage this year Crying or Very sad

That looks like the Highland haggis, quite a rare animal especially in it's winter coat. The Lowland haggis is much darker to help it blend in with the heather and, to my mind, has a much sweeter taste.

If anyone wants to order for January there is a butcher in Melrose, at the foot of the Eildon Hills, in the Borders who can provide freshly caught Haggi although he did say there were a bit rare this year due to the wet weather and he hadn't seen many breeding pairs.

Most Haggi' are now farmed, but you can taste the difference in them. Free running ones are the best, but cost a lot more. Thumbs Up
