I did have one set of Britpart some years ago which had to have the casting ground slightly to get it to fit.
After that it was fine, and I believe is still on the car without further issue. It was only a once off and all other callipers have been perfect. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I dont think i have seen any parts that are made in the UK for a large number of years.
Most of the genuine car parts i fit come from Turkey, China or Israel, i have just had to wait three months for a set of radiators to be shipped over from Turkey because BMW had no stock in the UK and had to order them from there supplier.Andrew

What suprises me, is that only a few do understand what the difference is in made in china and buying in china…
Out of (proffesional) experience in know that if a European supplier (not talking about EU, but Europe) or north America, or australia for that matter does the “end control” stuff produced in China is or can be good stuff.. the problem is, that the “same” stuff with the same (supposed) specs, bought directly in china by the public, on ali or ebay, or amazon, has chinese “end control”…. iMHO, that sucks 90% of the time…..they just don’t care…(.If you die) they don’t believe me…
Just don’r buy from chines suppliers direct, let do a reputable company do the end control for you….Best regards

I do understand that - and agree.
However the grey area is where smaller suppliers (and in one two cases, maybe a couple of larger ones) are buying direct from China, reliant on a wide ratio of sales vs returns rather than applying their own end control.
With two identical Chinese originated products selling via different suppliers at differing prices, as a consumer / end user, it is near impossible to know if the product sold at a premium price is actually any better, or if the supplier is just selling the same cheap product at a higher mark up!Not such a Disco Newbie now!

Personally I think there are genuine good quality parts made all across the world and then there are people who will make cheap copies and sell them as genuine. Brembo have had huge issues with copies of there brake calipers which crack and fail leading to some very nasty accidents there was a video made from Brembo showing the difference between the genuine and the fakes.
You cant even say if you buy cheap you get cheap because quite often the fakes are a similar price.Andrew

Any Reputable supplier who wants to do long time trustworthy business hates returns, because they cost them big money… profits in automotive are generally low (for resellers that is) very low…. Every single return will bring them loss… really Shipment is to expensive, every return is 2 or 3 times shipment, and since “free” shipment does not exist, somebody has to pay for it..
Simply try to buy from reputable suppliers on their own website /webshop, so NOT with cowboys on ebay, amazon, ali or others, and i think you will be safe.
If it is drive train related, i do not cut costs on those parts, for a few quid To be saved..Best regards
