i have the same removal set as in the laser video, if you mark your drill to the depth of the glow plug thread and drill out the core to that measurement then your fine.
No swarf should get in to the chamber as what is left inside the head is a tube as shown in the video, unless you drill right through it that is.

I have the vibrating gun for removal but if the plug has already snapped off then the gun is useless, its a drill you now need and the removal set Big Cry

Thanks Flack - made it sound simple Wink

Am I right in thinking no amount of ongoing treatment with penetrating oil on the outside and 2SO/Millers/Redex in the fuel is going to touch the problem we are talking about? Based on reading other threads, it's a combination of coking up on the inside and weakness on the outside?

hi guys, went to my local indie today, spoke about glowplugs think i have some down Big Cry asked worse case senario, he said body off with all new plugs £1300 Very Happy happy with that!!going to see now if thats what my prob is, hook it up and see!!

At least I and my family have our health - cars and money aren't really that important in the grand scheme of things.

Before my engine went in, I tried the glow plugs. All 6 worked, but 3 in one bank came out OK, the other 3 were seized

Running 2 stroke just now, have been for 1500 miles. Still 2,500 to go before its next service, but I will be attempting them, to see if the 3 stuck plugs come out Whistle

Update and advice needed:
Spoke with the mechanic just now. He has spent six hours on just one snapped plug and it's still not out. He has had to order a longer drill bit as the one he has isn't long enough, though he's done a Disco 3 before.

He says he's managed to pull it out 12mm but it still won't pop out of the hole.

Can anyone offer advice as to why, please?
